Abstract

In the present bibliographic study, the autism spectrum disorder and the contribution of theatrical training to the socio-emotional development of children with autism were studied. Through the present study it emerged that theatrical education and drama therapeutic interventions are an important pedagogical and therapeutic tool for the development of socio-emotional skills in children with autism. Finally, the importance of the alternative form of intervention based on theatre for special education and more specifically for children with autism, both inside and outside the school community, was recognized.
